Fine art rendering of man.

If I gave you the picture

of a man sitting nude at the edge of a stream

on a boulder gray-green with lichens

(he is even featured, smooth skinned)

(he appears contemplative)

would you see a lost man

a man cleansing himself

is he waiting; ready for baptism;

mourning that he is not salmon

or bear

fulfilled or sad

or

does he simply have no clothes?

Woven masks and wall weavings are not intended to tell a particular story. But to invoke a mood, an emotion in the viewer.

Close up of The gatherer (Iskum man).

"The Gatherer"

(Iskum Man)

$380.00

Wall art shield of The gatherer (Iskum man).

"The Gatherer"

If Iskum Man seems to you to have had a less bountiful harvest than last season's; or if he had to gather it alone; it is no contradiction that to me he cries over the ages that plenty has become not enough because of greed and waste and self-centered stupidity.

Wall weaving of Mother Circle.

"Mother Circle"

The thought, not the art, was inspired by grandaughters, by Kaia Marisol, and by her mother who was so happy she came.

$380.00

Close up of weaving titled Trappings.

"Trappings"

Wall weaving Trappings.

"Trappings"

Are there things caught in here that shouldn't be? Is it more likely this would look handsome on a magnificent horse come festival week? Anyway, there is insanity in the crazy free-form peyote beadwork.

$380.00

Wall weaving Level Blue and Circles.

"Level Blue and Circles"

(they pass thru)

might convey the continuum of life (as it is with circles. It is level and it is pierced.). Or it may merely amuse you.

$350.00

Wall weaving Copper Tree

"Copper Tree"

is shaman unless he is mad. His fangs are his - unless they're make believe.

$350.00

Wall weaving Litl Duck

"Litl Duck"

Is she blue? I believe she's faerie and she winks at you as she dances around the wet rocks at the spring. (Tenas is little in the Chinook Jargon, and whatever else she is she is tiny and spritely.)

$225.00

Close up of Sky Speak with polished bone.

"Sky Speak"

Wall weaving Sky Speak

"Sky Speak"

encompasses all of femininity to me as she daydreams of the skies and sees all manner of things in the clouds.

$300.00

Wall weaving Fore Father

"Fore Father"

That's a birthday present to my husband and the first wall hanging I ever made of weaving and bones. It came about in order to be a mounting for a fossil. And so it became old.

$80.00

(w/o shark tooth, see details)

Close up of Wapato Tale with polished bone.

"Wapato Tale"

Wall weaving Wapato Tale

"Wapato Tale"

haunts me with thoughts of the long-ago-elk who contributes to my art.

$325.00

Wall weaving Naming Turtle

"Naming Turtle"

meant a birth to me; the coming together of painting and weaving - so seems to me to be painted with fibers. But that can't be.

$300.00

Handmade Mask He Weeps.

"He Weeps"

But for what -

a place a time

a mother a lover?

$280.00

Wall weaving Storm

"Storm"

matches your new rug. It doesn't match mine. I looked out my window behind my couch one day and saw this. When I looked straight ahead, out a north window, I saw sun gold on wheat on the hill.

$350.00

Wall weaving Blue Dancer

"Blue Dancer"

Because his eyes jitter and he has jaunty stick-up bundles of Ponderosa Pine needles he makes me laugh, even though he has tears.

Wall weaving Rain Falls on a Window.

"Rain Falls on a Window"

or a cave mouth or a crystal. In any case she's serene, she is without clouds. She speaks pastel.

"Rain Falls..."

Wall weaving Nez Split

"Nez Split"

His nose sticks out from his face. Did it begin that way or did he need a place to show off his feathers? (The color scheme seems weird and appeals to me.)
